Reference for Shane Anderson
To whom it may concern,
Shane was employed by Edinburgh Napier University as a Student Intern within the Information Services department from 23 June until 19 August 2025. He worked within the Service Design and UX team and I had the pleasure of serving as his Line Manager during that time.
Shane’s contribution to the team was invaluable. During his internship at Edinburgh Napier, he worked on a range of UX and Service Design focussed projects, demonstrating his skills and knowledge in the field, whilst giving insight into his previous experience. Examples of the work he undertook include process mapping, competitor analysis, wireframing for web page redesigns and the design of media modules to input into the University’s design system. In all his work, Shane presented his findings in a clear and understandable manner.
Shane demonstrated professionalism throughout the internship. He is punctual, came to meetings prepared, brought fresh ideas to the table, and asked relevant and considered questions demonstrating his eagerness to learn. He is a great communicator and was able to convey his ideas well, both in a one-to-one setting and whilst presenting to a larger audience.
It has been a pleasure having Shane as part of the team and I would highly recommend Shane for future positions. Please do not hesitate to contact me using the details above should you require any further information.
Yours faithfully
Helen MacDonough
